Episode 1: Vincci Tsui, RD

Vincci Tsui on dietitians discovered podcast

Is it possible to be body positive and still want to lose weight?”

Vincci Tsui

Episode 1 is officially here! Anti-diet dietitian and Intuitive Eating counsellor Vincci Tsui joins Sarah on the podcast to discuss what led her to a career in dietetics, the different roles she has played throughout her dietetics career, and how her discovery of the intuitive eating philosophy inspired her to change her career path.

Visit the Dietitians Discovered directory to listen to Vincci’s episode.

Vincci Tsui grew up in Calgary, Alberta, after emigrating from Hong Kong at the age of three. She was inspired to pursue a career in dietetics after learning about the science behind digestion and its effect on the body. She studied at McGill, which offers an integrated internship program, and she discusses the perks of being able to do an internship concurrently with her degree, as well as the topics she didn’t get to study throughout her education. Vincci entered the workforce immediately after graduation from McGill, first at a private practice, then at an in-patient facility, before working at a weight management bariatric surgery clinic, all while starting her own private practice.

It was while working at the bariatric surgery clinic that Vincci discovered the concept of intuitive eating and it made her question her current line of work. She found herself wondering if there was a way to work at a clinic designed for weight loss while practicing body positivity? Vincci soon moved on from the clinic, and now focuses on growing her private practice, nurturing and expanding the Weight Inclusive Dietitians of Canada community, and taking care of her ten month old daughter.
